  1. Ok i have a question about TMPGEnc. After i ripped my DVD with Smart ripper i used DVD2AVI, but when it was time for me to Encode the movie i can not get the right screen Resolution. I want it to be like a DVD not 480x480. I tryed all Template that TMPGEnc gives me and can find a way to get it to work. So if someone can help me out i would Appreciate it thanks =)

The format i have my file is NTSC , i need to know how to get a better resolution then 480x480.

  4. I don't know exactly what you mean when you say a "better resolution" but I had no trouble using the TMPGEnc's template called "VideoCD (NTSC).mcf".

The standard specs for a VCD (to be played on most DVD players) is:

    System:
    MPEG 1
    1394.40 kbits/sec

    Video:
    MPEG 1
    352 x 240
    29.970 Frames/sec, 15/3 IPB
    1150 kbits/sec

    Audio:
    MPEG 1 (L2), 44100 Hz, Stereo
    224 kbits/sec

    Hope this helps somewhat...

  5. Well i'm trying to make a SVCD this is the TMPGEnc's Template i use "SuperVideoCD (NTSC).mcf" the resolution is "480x480" so when i play it it gives me a square window for a movie instead of a file that would be made at "720x480" so i'm trying to find a way that when i'm going to watch the movie and press ALT+Enter for full screen it will let me watch the movie as a DVD and not in this "480x480" resolution

  6. Hmmm...

If you're just going to watch the SVCD on your computer and don't care about the compatibility of playing it on standalone DVD players then you could Load the template "unlock.mcf" from the "Extra" subfolder of TMPGEnc and then click on "Setting" to change the size and everything else from there.

I once, by mistake, encoded a SVCD at 720 x 480 but luckly it still played on my Pioneer.

  7. Use the SuperVideoCD (NTSC).mcf template. Then click settings or options and under the advance tab choose 16:9(525)ntsc for the source aspect ratio pull down tab and full screen keep aspect ratio for video arrange method tab. That should do it for you.
