  1. I have a fan that needs 24v 1.7Amp power. Since any computer or should i say ATX power suppy does not have a 24v line does anyone know where I can find a second small PS for this situattion. I dont mind have 2 PSU in my computer.

If at all possible I would like it to look like a computer PSU with an 110 AC input in the front and the 24v output in the back.

    Thanks.

  3. Yea I did search for those but it just an electronic piece (board). I am no electrican and I have no idea what to do with this (has a little metal around it and capacitator all around. I need one that connects to a AC plug and the output is just 2-3 wires to connect to the fan thats not expensive.

if you have no experiance in electrical -- i am not going to tell you if it can or can not work as i dont want my as* sued off when you electrocute yourself ..

    1. you would have two power sources coming into the same case - you would legally have to put all kind of warnings about that ..

    2. you have to protect the back of the recepticle with approved method - heat shrink or the like ...

lot of other little things like all the cables have to be rated the same .....

for a fan -- you certainly dont need some big switching regulated power supply

  9. I see... I wasn't going to try it anyway... I'll look into that PS link you sent me. The fan is atcually well worth it. Here are the specs:

Comair-Rotron Falcon™ Model# FD24B6NDNX. 24 vdc 1.7 amp, 6.75" diameter x 2.16" wide cooling fan. 300 cfm @ 3400 rpm. 57 dBA. Fuse and polarity protected. Ball bearing. Metal housing and 5 blade polycarbonate propeller. Three 12" leads terminate to 3 pin connector. UL, CSA.

I just need something to power this baby and use it as an exhaust or blower.
