  1. I recently updated to Toast 6.03 and OS 10.2.8 on my computer. Prior to updating my software to the latest versions, I hadn’t had any problems burning movies using Toast 6.0. The problem I’m having occurs right after I push the burn button in Toast, these two files (Desktop DB and Desktop DF) get added automatically to the list of files getting burned. After I have already begun to burn the disc, there isn’t a way to delete the Desktop DB/DF files. If I do stop the burn to delete these files, the DVD becomes a coaster and the DVD is ruined.

The steps I use to burn a movie with Toast are the same steps I having been using since I started to backup my movies. Here are the steps, first I use DVD Backup to backup the movie files onto my hard drive, then I use DVDZoneX to process the movie files, finally I use Toast to burn the DVD files onto a DVD. If I let the burn finish all the way through, I get an error message that says ( “There was a system error”; “Could not detect a valid media file”) when I attempt open the Video file on my G5’s DVD player. If I push the play button it says (NOT PERMITTED) on the screen. Thanks.

    are you chosing DVD-ROM UDF?

desktop files should not be added to that type of burn.

also, one thing i have found almost necessary is to quit toast between consecutive burns. Burn #1 works great! Burn #2 sometimes gets desktop files added.

its been awhile since i did 2-3 consecutive burn so i dont know if 6.0.3 addressed this but I remember that happening ith 6.0

I recently noticed this too with 6.0.3, it didn't happen before with 6.0.3.
Maybe it has to do 10.3.3, because in 10.3.2 didn't happen.
