If I'm burning onto a 1x-2x speed DVD-R disk (a Ritek G03) in a 4x recorder, could there be an issue that may cause playback stutter? I ask this because I took the same video files from my hard drive and burned them onto a 4x Memorex DVD +RW (using the same process) and had no problems - perfect playback. Should I always use the 4x media, like a Ritek G04? Or, can I set the burn speed down (in Nero) from 2.4 x to 1x to solve this with the existing G03's? I am burning with a Memorex dual format X1.

from what I understand burning at too high a speed will cause the freezing and stuttering...
I actually returned my lite on burner because the discs were stuttering even when burned at a slower speed, though the slower speed significantly reduced the amount of errors, and a few discs actually came out perfect.
so, yeah, burn at the recommended speed and you should get better results.
