    Europian Imaging and Sound Association does have a lot of clout so to speak .. and i recall highly regarded as fairly truthfull and unbiased as to results ..

    I just found out that Lite-On is comming out with yet another model stand alone DVD recorder ... the DVR-L71

    Now this model peaks my interest. Not only does it have a built-in 80GB HDD but it has FLEX TIME recording as well as a fixed 3 hour mode in additioin to 1, 2 and 4 hour modes (also a who-would-use-it-ever 6 hour mode).

    Damn was Lite-On following this thread and heard me bitching!

    I have to admit I am interested in this model.

    Yes I know I downloaded the manual a few days ago.

    I really don't have the money at the moment but if I had to make a decision it would either be the Pioneer or the Lite-On (the DVR-L71) or maybe even the Panny E-80/E-85

    I did notice in the Pioneer manual that there is a special HDD recording option that says more-or-less that it promotes what sounds like frame accurate editing before you transfer to a DVD-R

    That sounds rather neat!
