Make sure your floppies are not "Write Protected"

Only people with small penises use the DVD+R format

Only people with large penises use the DVD-R format.

    I use both...

I guess that makes me medium....

But that's why it's -minus format- the more you use the smaller it gets.

My car ran out of gas yesterday ...those Chrysler products are CRAP!!!

Hey Jumbo_Holden, did you remember to check if the DVD-R write-protect switch was set? It's just like the floppy tab you slide over. Hold the DVD with the logo facing you. Then you have to take an X-acto knife and, at the outer edge, carefully peel back the top plastic layer. You'll see a small slide switch between the dye and the reflective surface. Carefully slide it to the "write" position. If the disc doesn't have one, keep trying with others until you find one with the little switch. You can't write it until you do this.

  9. You guys are pathetic. I use DVD~R, which kicks the crap out of the other ones. You wouldn't believe how much better video looks, I haven't burned a coaster yet, AND I can get a full 5 gigs of data on it. Beat that!

Though I must confess that after about 50 DVD-R and 2+ I've only had a problem once.

Just look at the Burner he's using, a BTC, holy ****, what a piece of crap that is, it's no wonder he can't burn DVD-r i'm surprise he's even able to burn the + format.

Hey if you bought a ******* shite burner then it's not the media thats at fault.

As you can see in this thread, nearly everyone has no problems at all burning DVD-rs, myself included.

I've never burnt a bad -R, however I use it because my living room DVD does not play +R. I think every bad CD I every burnt was due to my error or cheap media. I just wish that the format was somthing that hardware knew how to handle better and I don't think Joe user should need to worry.

  12. Me thinks thy problem lieth betwixt thy ears. Hate, . . . for a format??? Sounds all so childish and petty. Perhaps if you spent enough time learning how to use it correctly?????

I just burned my first DVD+R.........IT PLAYS GREAT!!!!!!!

    So long you -R losers

My only issue with it is my standalone only plays -R, so I had to multiply it by negative one so my stand alone would think it was a -R disc.

In case anyone else runs into this issue all you have to do is label the DVD+R disc with the following equation:

    (-1)(dvd+r) = dvd-r

I don't know if anyone else has searched for ATC in the DVD Writers , it comes up with a big 0 . So if it is a BTC Writer ,then perhaps Jumbo_Holden should have read the reviews on the BTC and not purchased one in the first place.

Then his post may have read 'I Luuuurve DVDRhyphen minus'

  20. What kind of burner do you have? A + burner or a - burner or +/- burner? Only - disk will work on a -/+- burner!

I had to look for mine too....it wasn't quite as easy as Mr. Write Protect Switch Expert Capmaster made it out to be....

I had to search my disc for 2 hours to find it. Anyway...if you are using RitekG04 media...your switch is on the right.

  26. I been enjoying reading many posts in this thread, too bad someone decided that fun isnt fun and has reported this thread. Maybe someone would call it wasted time to post to and read this thread, but REPORTING this thread is the ultimate waste of time.

Anyway, the writeprotect switch was great, i will for sure use that picture on some of my future covers.

I'm sure the original poster has long since stopped checking up on this thead. The mods are pretty cool as long as things don't get out of hand. And issues don't become too heated. Besides without some fun we wouldn't have had Kenman's post "I think the problem is between your desk and your chair"...come on now...I don't care who you are...THAT'S FUNNY. I will use that in class sometime

Just like hanging out with your friends and one of them says or does something stupid and the rest of you tease him about it for years to come...I still make fun of one of my friends because 18 years ago he accidently grabbed the beer bottle that some were using as an ashtray and took a good ol' healthy swig...

I'm sure logically Jumbo realizes the illogicality of his post and was probably just venting a little frustration. It happens, I've been 2 or 3 or 12 beers in before and posted some pretty dumb questions myself.

~For those who have asked in the past...that disc image is the one I made my avatar from.
