  3. Look for the 4x, blue packaging, made in Japan. Online you can check: Newegg, pagecomputers.com, shopperwiz.com, buy.com.....these are respectable retailers with some competitive pricing.

I'm almost positive those are Japanese MXL's. I haven't seen any 4x fakes or rebranded media from any reputable source. Usually the 635XXX part numbers are factory direct MXL's.

I assume you've ordered the silver printables...#635127. The 635129's are white matte printables and they are genuine MXL's. Excellent disks.

I hope you are right Hawseman. They are #635127.They run $66.80 for a 50 pack this price includes shipping.I have been using Ritek GO4's which play fine in my Panasonic and Apex DVD players. They don't play good in a JVC player.I am having some 35+ years old home movie transfered to DVD and I want the most compatible DVD-R to burn copies to.I tried a 10 pack of the Maxell's and they played in anything.
P.S. Hawseman how much weight are you lifting there? Thanks for your reply.DVD-BLUES AKA" THE WIDOWMAKER"

Well, my friend, your choosing the right media for standalone compatibility. I, like you, have that seamingly rare issue with Riteks....but the Maxell's have delivered for me. Riteks work well for me if I keep my burns 4gig or less....

    Oh, that's a 60lb viagra press....
