hi sorry to say i have been doing this for a while but ive never really used my dvd rw as a backup tool. i have 6-7 nero image files (.nrg) i want to burn some smaller ones to the same disc for archiving.
my question is using nero platinum to do this what do i choose as burn option? iso? udf? and a brief explanation of what those are would be nice.
i began to burn using the dvd-iso option but it gave me a warning that i was beginnng a multisession and that scared me off.
also if i was to burn 2 nero image files to one dvd as actual dvd format how would players respond to 2 sets of menus etc. without commands on using them ? would it play one and goto the next?

If I understand correctly, you are trying to archive several Nero disc image files (.nrg) on one DVD.
The only way to do this is to burn them as data. So pick DVD-Rom UDF-ISO as your template and drag the files over. You can turn off the multi-session feature in the options dialogue box. (The only down side to a multi-session disc (i.e. non-closed "session") is that it may not play in some DVD Rom players. The upside is that you can add tracks later. But if you plan to fill the disc anyway then turn off the multi-session option.)
By burning them as data, you cannot play them as DVD video on a DVD player. All they are good for is for archiving, in case you want to take one of them and burn it as a separate DVD disc in the future. In which case you pick one of the image files and pick "burn disc image" from Nero's options.
Once you understand the difference between burning the .nrg files as data versus burning them as a disc image, you will understand that you cannot burn more than one file as an image. You cannot burn two image files on one disc and have it play as a DVD video because each disc image is an image of a separate DVD disc. To have all the content of the several images on one DVD disc, you have to re-author the material. -
This guide is very similar to what you trying to achieve. Take a look.

Also, after you burned the image files using the guide above into DVD, you can re-author the DVD thru TmpgDVDAuthor and create a new menu.
