    You can't usually tell a disc by its packaging with 100% accuracy - you need to open it up and read the media code off of it to have any assurances about what you've really bought.

    TDK do make their own media, but I recall them using other people's before now. You might buy a couple of boxes and find each from another manufacturer, even if they came from the same store at the same time - guessing a blank by its packaging is a black art, I'm afraid.

    I recently bought two of these. I found they said "Made in Japan" I think they are good media
