  1. just like the topic says. Currently, I have been using 224kpbs. I don't have surround sound right now but will probably be getting some sometime soon. Do you think that I should raise the bitrate or I probably wouldn't really even notice a difference?

  4. You can go as hi as 700+k, that should be indistinguishable from the original even to the most golden ears. But 192k for stereo and 224k for surround sounds good.

  5. 256 is what the BBC use for digital satellite / terrestrial transmissions. 192 is used on a lot of commercial "TV Series" DVD's.

    I use 256k.

    If making a short disc i use 9000k video and 448k audio.

  7. I as well use a rate of 224 for stereo encoding and 448 or more for 5.1 May be overkill, but the quality change is un-noticable..............
