  1. Hi!

    Im thinking of buying this one; Ive heard a lot of rave about the exellent recording quality..

    So I was woundering, is there anyone who could possible put up a clip
    of something recorded off vhs/tv/whatever?

    I imagine people here might like "real" dvd-athoring, hence putting the recorded material on your pc;
    so if you're one of them, fork up that sample hehe =)

    thx

  2. I have the DVDR80 and it makes excellent recordings even in the 4hr mode.
    It truly works like a vcr encoding, pausing for commercials, and editing too.

  3. I have the DVDR75 (same as 70 but with a firewire input) and TBH, I can't tell any real difference between the recording & the source.

    I mainly record off Sky in 1hour or 2 hour modes

    Puttting up a clip won't really tell you much unless you can compare it to the original.

    For the money, I'd say buy it, you won't be dissapointed by the quality.

    Cheers

    Bad advice is pricey...good advice is priceless
    I can't warrant what camp this falls into, but, for what it's worth, it's what I believe!

  4. If I'm recording something I want to keep, then I try to avoid going beyond the M2 mode. Quality is OK in that.

    To my eyes, the M2x mode is on the limit of acceptable - I start to notice macroblocks and other artifacts - I think the bitrate is down to about 4.06 mbits/s by that point. Modes below that I only use for recording a lot of stuff on timer if we're away for a few days.

    Hope this helps, although really I guess you should try and test it so you can judge for yourself.
