i'm having trouble with some software

i got ulead dvd moviefactory and i'm tryin to put two movies in one dvd media i followed the guide on the site here but when the program is coverting the video or outputin it its takin a long time to do it. does it always take this long or its that i'm doin something wrong b/c i think the length of the two movies are too big to fit into the media and thats why its takin forever this is wat is says :
" / " hard drive space 16.3gb/75.8gb
required /available disc space 8.2gb/4.4gb

burning process converting video its at 30% and its been like 3 hours i think or more does it take this long to do it ?

i'm new to this is there a better program that can do this faster?

i forgot to mention the movie files are vcd's and svcd 's if that helps
