  1. I have backed up my Matrix Revolutions DVD with 87% compression for the movie only. The disc plays fine on both my PC's DVD drives. It will not however play on my Sony DVPNS930V standalone player. I burned onto Memorex 4x DVD-R media with a Sony DW-U18A writer. This usually works fine. A friend of mine says he has had the same problems with DVD shrink on his NEC burner with different media, so uses DVD X copy instead with no problems. I have used DVD shrink before with a different burner and had this problem come up once before. On other occasions it has worked fine. Am I doing something wrong? The AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders are there as well as the BUP and IFO files.

What does it do? Skip, stutter, give an error message? Need more info. What speed are you burning at? Have you tried a lower write speed?

I personally get better results transcoding to a ISO image and burning with DVDDecrypter then I do transcoding to VOB files and burning with Nero. As far as DVD X Copy goes. I've played around with it a little bit. Never really backed anything up with it though. So I can't really comment on that. But I can tell you most seem to not like it to much around here.

I have an older. finicky standalone, and when I burn to an ISO I've never had a problem.

On my player it will say incompatible disk sometimes but then a minute or so later it will play the disk fine. Even backed up disks that I've watched before with no troubles.

It says in my instructions to try the disk more then once if it does'nt work right away.
