  1. Hi,

I have a DVD already burned that I want to re-author, new menu's etc etc. I made it a while ago with a rather limited authoring tool - option wise.

The feature I have took from the disc is 4 VOB files long, what is the best way to get that back into MPEG2 format so that I can import it into Ulead DVD Workshop 2?

Also (possible long shot?) is there anyway I can keep the chapter points where they are in the file? as there is no problem there and I'd rather not go through re-chaptering at specific points.

    Thanks for reading all!

Most of the time, you can simply rename the file (ie. movie.vob to movie.mpg). It's actually always worked for me.

  3. You can use the 30 day trial of TMPGenc DVD Author program.

When you create a project, then choose add DVD video, then choose keep existing chapters.

Then create you menu using the supplied templates or choose edit menu theme under the create menu button.

This should let you do as you want with no conversion of the existing DVD files. You will need to have the entire dvd structure as it uses the files in the Video_ts folder, not just bare Vobs only.

  4. Thanks for the replies guys.

Though it was actually TMPGenc DVD author that I used first time round and I wanted to re-do it using Ulead DVD Workshop 2.

If re-naming the vob to mpg doesn't work then you can use vobedit (free) to demux the audio and video streams and Workshop should accept them. No chapters though.
