Okay, even though you were already in the shark tank with "ol Mark the Shark", and I smelled blood in the water, the wife wants to go shopping, so I'll let you out -- this time.Originally Posted by Dr.Gee![]()

Hello.

Tommyknocker, you want to get out of that whicker chair on the porch once in a while, you sound as bored to tears with your life as they come.
Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
From my point of view you both need to buy some manners, you and the cashier.
Try being more patient the next time with people, the old saying "The customer is always right" is not valid, sometimes the customer is not right. No tengo miedo a la muerte. Solo significa soņar en silencio. Un sueņo que perdura por siempre. .. -
i was patient while waiting at the cash register.. i'm not the type of person to turn the other cheek.. if someone does/says something, i will confront them about it.. like i said, i dont take shit from anyone, espeically when i dont deserve it.
i kinda get the feeling you yourself are a cashier, or someone in a related field. -
Agreed. That cashier is being paid to deal with jeex, so she damn well should have done. With courtesy.
It was a glaring complaint. I think he has every right to say what he did and if it ever happened to me, I'd confront the cashier and give her hell for it. She was being paid to deal with jeex, and jeex was paying her wages. She should damn well serve his needs - on demand - as a member of staff.
I say this from the viewpoint of a cashier (and customer services supervisor), and I would expect to lose my job over that if I ever did what she did. Jeex let her off lightly.

Well, I am not a cashier per say, but I deal with people all the time, the so called customers. Just because I am an employee, getting paid to serve people, does not mean I have to be nice all the time. If I were a woman, maybe I am having my period ( and feel irritated). I am a human being, I have to wait on many individuals everyday, slaves, sorry, humans get exhausted sometimes.
shortly after that the police officers wanted to keep questioning me.. probably because i was being an ******* to themNo tengo miedo a la muerte. Solo significa soņar en silencio. Un sueņo que perdura por siempre. .. -
Being tired is no excuse for not being civil to others. Even when I am very unhappy to be in work, or when I'm not well (been ill since Friday, still worked) I am still at least civil to others.
I don't want some super-happy employee serving me. I don't even want to talk sometimes. What I expect is for them to operate the till - that's their job. If they don't like it, tough. They can always quit, if that makes them happy.

as i said earlier in the this thread "do unto others, as they do unto you"..
the lady started off being rude (ignoring me), so i reacted rudley to her with my "right..." comment.. i was going to leave it at that.. but then she did the whole forgery pen thing.. i've NEVER seen/heard of/fathomed anyone checking ONE dollar bills.. then i made my comment.. for me, the situation was over.. we had our little squabble, and it was over.. but she wanted to one-up me.. i dont know what was going on in her life to cause her to want to take such an extreme action..
i dont always expect people that are working while i'm dealing with them to be nice to me, but i do expect the to NOT BE RUDE.. if they're rude to me, i'm rude right back to them.. if she had apologized, or been nice after the initial incident, i would have been nice right back, but she decided to take the alternate route..
like cobra said, its her job, she knows its her job, she should do her job.. no one is forcing her to work there, if she doesnt like dealing with the public, she can get a factory job.. i understand she's human, but customers shouldnt be targets for her to take out her anger.
and y'know what? i am an easy going guy, but i'm not going to go easy if you're an *******, or some other variant.
some people are content with taking things how they are, taking shit.. i'm not, its just the way i am. of course at times my actions will lead me to problems that could have been averted had i taken it.. but there have been numerous times that my reaction to a situation completely diffused it.. i'm fine with how things are..
there are different people, and they handle situations differently.. i'm sure the majority of people would have just taken the rudeness/abuse, but not i, not from someone i dont know..
if you were walking down the street and someone spit on you, would you take it? the majority of you wouldnt, but some of you would.. when people are rude to you, they're spitting on you in a way.. but most people accept it and try to get over it.. i know there are some of you that will say i'm immature..
i usually take a quick analysis of everyday situations and decide how going to re/act in those situations.. i of course have my bad days, but i dont take it out on other people that are undeserving..
i hope this clears things up.. but i'm sure as usual, it will only bring up more questions. -
What works for me and keeps me out of those situations is to assume they're friendly and treat them nice right from the start.
I'll go up and if the cashier is wearing a name tag I'll say "Good Morning Alicia" or something like that. Or I'll just give them a nice smile and say "And how are you today?". It works wonders when you're nice to them. I've found that smiles and nice treatment are infectious. -

I posted what I say to them. I didn't mention that I lay "willie" on the counter at the same time. Not sure if the smile I get back is admiration or a suppressed giggle

Wait, wait ....I just remembered. In a PM you mentioned you were doing drywalling this weekend. You really DID take out the interior walls. What a stud !!! -
while on the subject of Wal-Mart - as quoted from the Channel27 ABC website in Harrisburg, PA:
Some Wal-Mart Customers May Have Been Overcharged
Harrisburg, PA - Did you shop at Wal-Mart last Wednesday? If you did, you may have been overcharged. A computer glitch caused more than 800,000 debit and credit card transactions to be double or triple billed. Most of the excess charges have been fixed but some charges may not show up until Tuesday. If you have questions, you can call 1-888-893-0626
Jeex paid cash, so he's in the clear - everyone else better check those statements!! -
The moral of the story is--- quit ******* smoking.
"You know, you really shouldn't smoke it's a dirty habit." "Yeah but so is wiping my ass but no one is banning that." - A.D.C. -

I would have demanded my 4 cents change.
Good for you Jeex, bastards always trying to screw folks over.
As far as the cop situation went...I wouldn't have went that way necessarily but hey, who knows, sometimes you just gotta do what you feel like doing.
