  1. Is there a simple tool that can tell me the vital statistics of a source file including whether it is interlaced or not?

    Or, if you don't want to use an application, just look at a part of the video that contains horizontal motion. (on a computer, that is)
    If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.
