  1. No problem, jimmalenko. You don't scare me. If a Moderator, Supermoderator, Supervisor, etc of this site asks me to stop talking about this thread, I will gladly leave. I came here to get answers about TMPGEnc Plus, not your garbage; QUIT BEING "A JACKASS."

Name calling is the first reaction of the defeated.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Yes, the CBR works. It was as I suspected: the 2-pass vbr is, for some stupid reason, spoiling the I-picture. On average, the I-picture was maintaining a size of 60 KB and the P-picture a size of about 70-80 KB when I did a 2-pass vbr. Now, when I'm doing a CBR, the I-picture is maintaining a size of about 110 KB while the P-picture is maintaining a size of 80 KB. It is maintaining the average bitrate of 7300 kb/s. What I don't understand is that TMPGEnc allows its CQ to go above 8000 kb/s. When I did a CQ 100 of this same file with a min of 0 and a max of 9600, there were some GOP's that even had a bitrate of 9200. Why is the 2-pass vbr having such problems? If the 9600 max was really the problem (I also tried 9200), it should've worked when I set the max of 8000 for the 2-pass vbr.

Strange. Possibly (Dare I say it) a buggy version of TMPGEnc ? Either that or is there a chance when you played around with the number of each type of frame that something might have been overlooked ?

It might be an idea to attempt to contact someone at PegaSys and see if they can help...after all, they did write it.
    If in doubt, Google it.
