I have an E50 and if there is a way I'm not aware of it. However, I've only had it for a couple months and I'm still discovering cool stuff it'll do.

I think there was a selection in the manual for doing that but no one figured out how to use it.

I'm sure there's a setting to automatically set chapters every X minutes. I use one at work so I don't have the manual handy. Look it up.

The answer really depends on how you are planning to use the recorded DVD-R discs. You can easily add any chapter points to the un-finalized DVD-R discs by using the "Marker" button, but once the disc is FINALIZED, all the chapter points created earlier would disappear and instead, a five-minute chapter break is automatically added to the DVD-R disc. Of course you can add chapter points to DVD-RAM discs the same way and won't lose them since there is no finalization required.Originally Posted by kentu3
So if you are planning to finalize the recorded DVD-R discs and play them in other players, then stop and start again seems to be your only choice. If you use a recorder with an HDD such as E80H or 85H, then you'll be able to preserve the chapter points using the high speed dub.
