guys, im looking for some ideas on good movie editing software. i have the adaptec a2310 dvd media center for capturing TV etc. I want to add special effects, what software does this....i.e a bolt of light (like a laser) being fired, this kinds stuff, but basic.....ideas and thought appreciated Gordon.

Premier will do all that and more. It is not easy to learn, but if you're a fast learner and have a good imagination, then that is the S\W you want.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
if you want a software that is more stable , more features , and easier to learn than premiere, (plus much better audio support)- look at using Sony Vegas ..

don't get me wrong -- premiere is a good app also --

i would upgrade 6.0 to 6.5 asap ....
