Hi, weird question. For anyone using MPEG Video Wizard, have you experienced the finished mpeg dropping out sound momentarily as it transitions between the vob files? My project is more complex than this, but for simplicity's sake imagine this: you have ripped five or six vob files off a movie DVD, you take them into MPEG Video Wizard and put them all end to end. You export this as an mpeg which should basically be the whole movie in one file. But whenever it hits the points between vobs, the audio drops out briefly (less than a second) while the video plays on normally. I thought at first it might be the burn or my authoring program, but no, it's on the mpeg too. I am already dreaming up workarounds, but I'd like to know up front if I'm always going to have to do some spurious things to prevent this from happening. It's really annoying if it's in the middle of a sentence of dialogue, or a big sound effect.
Also, if this is a known or common problem, are there any vob/mpeg editors that don't do this? I like MVW's interface and it seems to be making good files for the most part, but it would be nice to have a second option that didn't do this.

What, nobody has seen this? Further information: it's not the join that's doing it, it's the end of the vob file. I can make an mpeg of just one vob, and if it ends with audio, less than a second of it will be clipped. When your project has five or six vobs in it (normal of course) this gets to be a pain. I'm going to have to make separate audio files in another app and then do some serious cross-fading.

Another update, if anyone but me is interested in this. Womble support tells me this may be fixed in the newest build (from 4/02) of MVW, so I am downloading today to run a test. From the list of bug fixes on their web site, they may actually be telling the truth and not just blowing tech support smoke. Will be interesting to find out.
With the project I was working on (now completed), I did manage to find a workaround, but it was a pain in the butt. I basically had to run a stereo recording using Soundforge to capture the sound around the joins straight off my DVD player, then insert those small wav files into the timeline in MVW while temporarily dropping the original audio. Hopefully the new build will fix the problem so I don't have to keep doing that, 'cause it's a real nuisance. -
I have the latest version of MPEG Video Wizard and it looks like such bug hasn't been fixed yet! I am trying to join four VOB files from Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 DVD into a single MPEG-2 Program, but audio drops out during transitions. My only workaround so far was VOB2MPG but now it is crashing on my computer for unknown reasons...
[EDIT] VOB2MPG crashes only whenever my VOB files have DTS audio, even if only as an optional/secondary audio track.
