  1. This is an example of a DVD printed with InkJet printer. Half of disc is sprayed with inkjet fixative, and half is untouched.

I then poured some water on it and touched it. Look at the difference!!

  2. With Mr Spidy in those tight pants your sure thats water! :P

Did you know dirt cheap (and it must be cheap, like UK ASDA smartprice cheap) hairspy creates a water proof coating too, its like 39p for a can which could do probably 50 discs.

  3. hairspray is a bit risky i think
I use coating for oil-paintings. Alot more expensive. but alot more better

  4. I know nothing about Krylon Crystal Clear, but Krylon makes something called "Preserve It!" that is for spraying on injet prints, it is supposed to prevent water damage and UV fading. I keep planning to stop by an art store or paint store ( it's made by Sherwin Williams) and buy a can, but always forget. If its safe for prints, it's probably ok for DVD/CD.

How do you prevent overspray? Seems like this would be the only problem.
If it works, don't fix it.

It's always puzzled me why people want to "waterproof" their DVDs. Isn't the whole purpose of the backup to have a copy that you can play frisbee with (or water-frisbee?) if you want? And UV protection? Keep it out of the sun

Doesn't all this burning, shrinking, protecting, displaying, etc. end up costing more than if you bought a "backup"?

You have to remember doing backups is also a hobby in that it gives some enjoyment doing this as well as backing up our store bought dvds and our dvds of home moments you cant replace, you cant put a cost on these things.

Yeah, but I hope Spidey isn't part of his "home moments". I thought is was more than implied that it was backups of commercial DVDs.

Er Movie studio's make more than enough profit out of me without me having to buy more than one copy of each of their films just because the disk dont work......

Cost dont come into the equation my hourly rate would ensure its never viable to...

Actually it pretty much is...for all intents and purposes anyway. Are you really going to soak it in water overnight? I have played around with that exact Primera product, along with all there other products, and can honestly say that the output on the discs are really good. I have taken a slober soaked thumb and fingernail to it right after it has come out of the Accent and nary a scatch or smudge developes. Yeah its spendy, but you are getting quality stuff. Plus you can put holographic images on it also. Cool stuff.

  17. Is this for real!
    What a product!

    Price: $3500.00!
Target: people who use inkjet printers that cost $150.00!

This is truly for Ripley’s "Believe it or Not". LOL!!!

P.S. Buy multicolor thermal printer and you will have 100% waterproof prints (and you will save some money!).

    LOL.

If it takes more than one disc for you to have to switch, maybe your choice of pron is the problem.

Lay off the hairy Sicilian or Desi amatuers and go with the ....oh, never mind.

  24. After looking lot of Krylon preserve it, I bought Krylon Workable Fixatif from walmart and well, first time sprayed, got little over sprayed but even after some of the part was good sprayed, I guess . Later after few hours I put cd under water tab and turn the water on, it got little washed and when I tried to wipe it it was getting wiped well.

I guess will have to find Inkjet Fixative.
