That's me! The XP2500 that I have isn't a good overclocker - my brother has one that clocked right up to XP3200 speeds with only +100mV VCore and it runs at a steady 32 deg C. Mine is 2.07 (130MHz below his) and peaks at 57 deg C.

I couldn't care less if my CPU were to crash and burn, so I'm clocking it very hard. I'm looking at upgrading to an XP-M 2500 (Mobile Athlon) since they are outstanding overclockers and are multiplier unlocked.

My 2500 is 3200 stable with ONLY FSB changed . PC3200 RAM from Corsair. Heat generation seems same or VERY close to that of normal 2500+ clock....

  2. Luck of the draw, isn't it? Your CPU was made by a fresh worker on Monday morning who just got lucky with two Swedish blondes that weekend. Mine was seemingly made on a Friday afternoon, two minutes after knocking-off time by some git who thought it'd be funny to sneeze on the wafer and see if it sizzles.

As I say, an XP-M 2500+ @ standard VCore 1.450mV sounds lurvely to me!
