Possible to simultaneously record and capture to computer?

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a way (and what software/hardware I need) to capture DV footage as it's being shot on my Panasonic DVC80 camera. I'm pretty new to all of this. I've been capturing via firewire after the footage is recorded. However, I'd like to be able to capture it to the computer AS I shoot it...

Mike, . . . on the internet you can find a website, www.coacb.com; (its a Christian broadcasting organization). Send em an email and address it to Stacey. She has been involved in doing this stuff for some time now. She can give you the info you need.

Mike, . . . my apologies, . . . fingers are used to typing dot com as I go through my daily routine. It just "slipped through my fingers". Stacey can help you though, she's their video edit person. I know that some months back they did a 3 camera shoot using switchers and streamed it straight into the computer. They also "taped" it with each camera, . . . and used some kinda wizardry where she was able to reach in and substitute the scene captured on camera 2 (for example) instead of the original scene captured on camera 3. She said the worst thing there is making sure it is placed right as she was moving only the video, . . . leaving the audio in tact (if I understood here correct).
