  1. Hi,

I've posted this question awhile back but didn't really get much feedback. Can anyone recommend a good stand alone multi-disc DVD player? This will be my first stand alone DVD player and I need a multi-disc because I'm paralized from my chest down and I'm unable to load the disc myself. I want to buy a multi-disc player that will play virtually all media types and as many formats as possible. I burn a lot of VCD's an SVCD's and if playing these I'd like it to be able to just switch to the next disc or be changed by the remote.

As stated in my last post I was looking at the Sony DVP-NC665P but I live in BFE and the only place that had one was Sears and it was a demo and they told me it was a 2001 model and had been discontinued and they wouldn't be getting anymore back in. Personally, I don't think they knew their head from a whole in the wall but that's another story.

So, I'm open for all suggestion on all brands. It looks like I'm either going to half to buy it online or drive 100 miles to the nearst Bestbuy.

    Many thanks,
    kwik

Ditto here. I am not paralysed but I would like to get one as well, especially with the capability of playing SVCDs.

Well about 2 months ago I bought a 5 disc dvd player from Best Buy. It plays NTSC and PAL according to the book. BUt I have only used it for NTSC. It has an AM/FM Tuner with 5.1 Surround sound. It has played everything I have thrown at it, DVD's and VCD's. It has performed more than what I expected. IT is a Koss and I payed $149.00 plus tax. It works great for me. Hope that helps.
