It's odd.. I've got an Apex 2600 and for the most part I'm very happy with the unit. It plays everything it probably should.

BUT, I created a dvd from multiple avi files, converted it to mpg, blah blah.. basically it's a regular DVD. Multiple titles, 10 chapers per title.

However, when I'm playing the movie there's a slight pause, maybe a 1/3-1/2 a second or so at each chapter break. At first I thought it was my encode, but yep, EXACTLY at the chapter points.

Here's where it gets weird - between my apex, my ps2, and my PC, it only seems to happen on the Apex. Now, before you say "Well duh, just buy a new DVD player," is there anything that may be contributing to this? I don't think it's the authoring software (Tmpg Author) because I've also burned one of movies and authored it from scratch with dvd-lab (meaning I didn't just use the vobs from tmpg author) and put in different chapter points - same thing.

There's some other info that may help - I'm encoding the avi files to mpg2 at a vbr of about 3200kbps. 1/2 D1 resolution and mp2 audio. The audio is put in the video, so it's just one mpg file instead of m2v and mpa/2. Do you think it may be the mp2 (try ac3 instead?)? Or the one system file instead of elementary streams? I'll probably mess around, but of course it'll take many hours and if someone's run into this issue before I'd love it if you could lend me your experience.

And if it doesn't work, guess I've got to sell a dvd player somehow THanks much
