Recently I have been doing some analog captures with virtualvcr at 352x240 with YUY2. I have been using virtualdub to convert to xvid and it works great. However, whenever I try to convert the same file to divx. The file size is always less than a megabyte and I just get a blank screen. I have been using fast recompress for video as pointed out in one of the guides if you use YUY2 and full processing audio with LAME codec at 48k 128cbr. Anyone have any ideas why this won't work with divx?
I was trying to compare to see which one would be better quality versus file size. Does anyone still use divx anyways or should I just continue using xvid?

Does divx have to be a certain resolution size? Is something the size of 352x240 supossed to work with divx?

You need to describe your Divx steps a bit more. Sounds like you did a multi-pass 1st pass and never did the second pass. The only resolution limitations are that the height must be a multiple of 2 and the width must be a multiple of 4. 352x240 is acceptable.
