Here's the story.. Given two separate perfect working P4 systems, I tried to hook up them up to a KVM switch (Belkin pos). For whatever reason, the it didn't work.. So I unhooked everything and returned to my original setup, i.e., two separate systems. Only one problem now---only 1 works..
On the non-working system (recently-purchased refurbished HP P4 3.0Ghz system), I can't get my keyboard, mouse and video to work.. When I boot-up, I can see the lights flash on the keyboard and mouse but then nothing.. and no video on the monitor whatsoever.. For testing purposes, I swapped out keyboards, mice and monitors and sure enough, again, the HP system wouldn't work..
It's not the power supply on the HP system b/c I can clearly see and hear the system boot-up, i.e., power button light is on and all fans are working.. What's odd is that one mouse is PS/2 and the other is a wireless, using a USB cable-->Both would not work when hooked up to the HP.. ???
Is the mobo fried?? Why are keyboard, mouse and monitor not getting a "feed"?? Please advise as to solution or other troubleshooting tips. Thanks... (very frustrated).
