Has anyone noticed "chunks" of color appearing while watching a dark scene on your DVD player?
I´d like to know what´s the most likely guilty part: dvd player, S-Video cable or TV (Trinitron bit worn out).
Regards
J

I doubt it's your cable.
It MIGHT be your TV. Who makes the DVD player? -
Macro blocks. Comes with mpg compression. The lower the bit rate, the more obvious the macro blocks.

I don´t think they´re macro blocks. This happens on comercial DVD´s even the one´s that have great quality and only in dark scenes - if it were macro blocks shouldn´t it be visible in all mono color scenes and fast action scenes?

Hmm, no obvious solution then.
Have you tried troubleshooting it? For example, have you tried hooking it up to different TV's? -
