I am looking for a program that can convert a non anamorphic widescreen DVD to a 16X9 anamorphic DVD with out too much video quality lost (ex:True Lies) P.S I want to keep the AC3 Audio. Thanks for any help I can get.

Just curious, but what would be the benefit of this? If the extra vertical information isn't there, you'd just be making it less sharp more than likely.

I haven't messed with this much but I would think either of these ways could work.....
Demux with something like DVD Dectypter or VOBEdit, then....
With AviSynth...
MPEGSource("True_Lies.m2v")
LanczosResize(720,360)
AddBorders(0,60,0,60)
(this one distorts a little)
or
MPEGSource("True_Lies.m2v")
Crop(0,60,0,-60)
AddBorders(0,60,0,60)
(this one doesn't distort but you are removing lines at the top & bottom)
Then re-author your DVD with the new m2v stream and your original ac3 stream.
Or not."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke -

I used DVD Shrink to create 1 vob file with no compression. All of this was a lot of work. Just wondering if one program could make this happen.

I've got 4:3 on my mind as I've been screwing with that all day, so if I've misunderstood "non-anamorphic widescreen" as meaning you're working with 4:3 source as I believe I have, then disregard everything I posted above
Too many bong hits."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke -
So you're saying that if you get a dvd in widescreen but the black bars are just thrown in there because it's non-anamorphic, your tv will interpret that as actual video and treat it like a full 4:3 image? Sorry man, I didn't know that, and that's not a good thing
Good luck
