Well, sure, if you have a S-VHS video output on your camcorder and a S-VHS input on your laptop and WMM can capture the video. What laptop are you using that has a S-VHS input?
-
That is an svideo output. You will have to get a usb capture device if you want to capture on your laptop.

One other thing to consider when capturing video to a laptop is the hard drive may not be fast enough to capture. My laptop is less than a year old and I would drop frames using the laptop harddrive, I resorted to using an external hard drive and all is well now.

ADS, Plextor, Adaptec and some other companies make analog usb 2.0 capture devices.
I've been using the Plextor ConvertX M402U with a toshiba Portege laptop and I love it. You can't however use Movie maker with convertx2.
I know ADS video vcd maker can be used with Movie Maker. I tested it. -
I use the Canopus ADVC-100 and have no complaints at all. It uses firewire for connection.
