    Funny you should say that. I actually have the advc100. And it works perfectly. Removes macrovision, and converts analog to digital.

    And transfering movie from the cam, via s-video, via advc100 and digital out isn't an option. Cause the quality is downgraded...

    Will Pinnacle Studio v9 work with a "Sony GV-D300E" ?
    When connecting to firewire, will the Sony operate as an ordinary video camera ? (or will this not work, since GV-D300E isn't a camera)

    You mentioned only DV-in but now you say DV-out as well. Have you tried to measure the resistance between the pins to see whether your port is connecting?
    Last suggestion: if you don't want to fix it and need a fully operational piece then put it up for sale on Ebay and buy a new one.

    No, my tv890e work fine.. only the DV-in/out which dosen't work.
    So I don't want it on ebay

    I would like a recorder, so I can tranfer movie to PC and back.

    Could you give me a hint, how to measure ? I have a voltmeter, but how, and what I'm I too look for ?
