  1. Hi, I've bought a NEC 2500a dvd-burner, and it kindof works fine but.....
Some of the dvd's I burn do not play in a standalone dvd-player?? I use Nero as my burningsoftware and I'm using Verbatim medias. They all work fine in my computer, but some om them just hang when I try to play them on my standalone?? And it's only some of them?? Has anyone got the same problem?
    in advance thanx

  2. If your original has errors, when burned they may not play and actually hang (just come to a dead stop) in the middle of something.
This can be a sign of corrupt media, or even a faulty dvd player.

  3. I dont know where Verbatim make their media nowadays, but there are bad stuff out. I didnt take the chance on Verbatim media because of a 50-spindle of cdr with very mixed quality, couldnt even read half the disks in the cd writer just after burning them with data, only 1 out of 5 worked in my pioneer standalone. Thats industry today, they make it everywhere, economy rules so if a never heard of before factory in china claim they can do it better and cheaper then they will be allowed to do it and we get to pay for the shit, branded or not.

  4. Thanx for the input guys. I've now checked my dvd-player and it's a Denver 142. I've read under the dvd-player compability section that it doesn't support dvd-r medias. But some of my dvd's worked? Could this be the reason that I'm having problems? As I said, all my dvd's plays perfectly on my computer, so I guess they are allright.
