Hey guys, first time poster here. I just recently purchased a dvd burner (Lite-On 851S) and have the newest firmware flashed on it. I've done quite a bit of research, but have only attempted the most elementary of burning tasks so far using Dvd Shrink/Nero 6.
What I'm wanting to do seems fairly complex to me but is probably very simple to most of you. Let's say I want to convert my Family Guy collections from 3 discs to 1. The only thing I would require are chapter breaks in between each episode. No subtitles, no menus, etc.
Is it possible? Will the quality be horrid? My main reason for even considering this is that since these were originally aired on television the quality isn't a huge deal to me. If I can just get them to be of VHS quality per episode then I would be pretty happy with the conversion.
Thanks for any help...

Yes it is possible, but the quality could be terrible, most likely very bad. Anyway, rip the episodes one by one, reencode them at very low bitrate (use some kind of bitrate calculator to find out how low), multiplex the reencoded video and the sound (with for ex. ifoedit) so you have one vobfile for each episode, and then author it with for ex. tmpgencDVDauthor, easy enough to add chapters there and create a simple menu.

you will have to recorde on the PC or do some kind of capture that would be the fast way. You really should give more info on your PC. If you have a slow PC then it's might not be worth the time to encode. Episode DVD are funny them mix up there vob file's some time's they do this alot on anime. A pain to back up if you encode. Captrue card for the PC or DVD recorder is easier and fast.
If you encode then encode at 352*480 or if you capture record at the four hour mode on a DVD recorder.
