I'm capturing HDTV RF signal to AVI using Ledteck 2000 expert card. I have to choose "uncompressed AVI" because my PC is slow and I can not compress is to straight DVD.
I always end up with AVI that has something like 300x200 resolution, i.e. when I view this AVI with Media player it is about that size. It is always 300x200 even if I'm capturing a VHS tape (via RF as well)
Now the question - how can I make my Ledtak card to record to an AVI with a higher resolution? Why the resolution is actually 300x200? Why the quality of an input signal is not taken into account when capturing?

try Virtual VCR and record to HuffYUV or any Mjpeg codec, then encode it to MPEG2 DVD.
no need big cpu, just big hard disk, and u'll be able to capture 720x480x29.97
