I believe ts are one of those groups who put really crappy cinema filmed movies on p2p .Total Warez. Its nothing to do with a filename.
Nuff said. -

if you got your .avi file off p2p and its a movie (shh its ok i wont say anything) then its most likely its a XviD/DiVX format. I dont support warez here but yet theres no proof of it so im more than happy to help you. Only dvd players that support XviD can play your avi, if not then your gonna have to encode it to mpg and then burn it with nero. Now if you have PS2 and it plays cd-r games then it most definately play your avi file, I play xvid files all the time on my PS2. Simple modification using a program called PS2 Media player.. not illegal just hoping to help ya. Well done my part expand on ur questions if you must!

ive tried encoding it but it wont even do that!! you know when you add your file and it analyze it. it then comes up unnsupported format, not even getting a chance to put it on disk

Get GSpot from here . Click on the red writing .
This will tell you what codec you need Xvid Divx MP43 . You can't just have Nero and expect it to do everything.
You need to see the video on your PC before you can do anything with it.
If you want to do this kind of thing learn to do it properly.
Post back what GSpot says about the video and audio -
Yah andys tip is very useful you should try it... I also got one more solution which would and could help you... Get VirtualDub and install the Handler, exit, re-open v-dub and click on file, load AVI, and load ur avi, it if it loads successfully then just framserv to tmpgenc and encode... any questions regarding framserving the u should really read a tutorial, ur best bet. We're here to help, not hold your hand
