Does any1 know the best (and easiest) way of removing wax stains off a sub-woofer?
I know, I know, it shouldn't be on there in the first place, but accidents do happen and believe me, this is one accident I wish NEVER happened.
I'm hoping I'm not the first, so some-one out there may be able to fill me in on the best way to clean this off. I have used boiling water with a towell, it got most of the wax off, but left a glossy coating on the box.
Any help would be welcome very muchly, so thnx in advance.
ps: I really hope I'm not the first!!! Burnsy.

but if you really want to know - its basicly lighter fluid ...
you could go into your local ski shop and ask them for a little bit of wax remover , many use Bio-Citron Wax Remover or something like it..
various other orange based cleaners will remove it ... and are even good for the wood."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
If this is from a modern candle, then your wax is paraffin based. Mineral spirits (AKA, paint thinner) will dissolve the wax and make for relatively easy removal. Just remember that the rate of dissolution is slow. If your speaker has a visible wood grain showing, then use a toothbrush to gently scrub the wax out of the grooves.
And yes, I do think that you are the first!ICBM target coordinates:
