Okay, I tested that out and burned the DVD and it still played with no audio.

does it play with no audio on your pc also ?
did you de-mux your ac3 stream from your new dvd and check it ?
without using a "real" ac3 encoder -- kinda shooting in the dark .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Every one I've authored has played on my pc fine with audio.

So you've got a download..I"ll assume that you don't know this, so here are a few things that will help you avoid trouble.
1)Open the .AVI in VirtualDub. Make sure that it's playing correctly, and that the frame rate is correct for output..
2)Scan the stream for errors within Vdub (although i don't have patience for this).
3)Go to Video>Direct Stream Copy...Audio>Full processing, Audio>conversion>48000stereo 16bit...Audio>Compression>PCM...File>Save Wave.
4)Now, after you've done that, save the video with Direct stream copy, but this time, choose Audio>No Audio..You'll have a silent .AVI..
Encode your silent .AVI to get your .M2V file, and encode your newly created .WAV file with Besweet...Join the two together, and you should get a very tasty Reece Peanut Butter Cup..
Good luck!!! -
Thanks pijetro but that's the process I've been doing from the beginning.
I was able to burn the first 4 episodes of the series with no problems but it's the remaining ones that are giving me all these problems. -
Then i can only guess that it's bad frames..It's only a guess..
Did you ever scan for bad frames??
VirtualDub does a so-so job of removing bad frames..I recall Mp3Freeze, or something like that being very good.. -
OK, Well I went ahead and just authored it using TDA and let it convert the .wav into .mp2 and then burned with DVD Writing Tool. It played fine with audio on my standalone players.
I'm still trying to find out why I can't seem to burn with .ac3 and have it play. I would go ahead and just burn these with .mp2, but the player I'm going to be playing these on is an older DVD player and it won't play back .mp2 (the one I've been using to test these is an APEX which seems to play everything under the sun).
I haven't tried letting DVDit! transcode the .wav into .ac3 and then burning it to see if that worked so I think I'll go ahead and see if does. I heard though that the .ac3 encoder in DVDit! wasn't really that great that's why I've been trying to do it seperate. -
at least it is a lic. approved encoder

Well I had success with DVDit! transcoding it into .ac3
. I guess I'll just let DVDit! do the work for these episodes that weren't working with the other .ac3's.
