Whoas! I hope you get a quick response from Pyrex. Hope no one was hurt by that pyrex enchilada exploding.

I think you need to switch the turbo off, on your oven. The same thing happened to me, when I was running a super charger on mine.
-
wow..
is it real pyrex?
they are known for making really good cookware.
if it is, i think the company should give you a new set of dishware..
and why did your wife cry for an hour? does she really like enchilada's or something?
-
Did you salvage any of the food, or were ya'll scared of shards?
-
Yep its real pyrex, thats why im sooo shocked! you can see the Pyr on one piece and ex (R) on the other piece.
I sent them an email, and am constucting a letter. Pyrex is supposed to be indestructable so this is totally something rare!
wife was crying because 1. she spent all that time preparing it and this happened. 2. she got cut with the glass.
The local pub came to the resque [delivery burgers and wings]!
still.... a shock to me that this happened! -
wait, i think i know why this happened.
you tried networking your oven with your mac.. -
I'll sign your letter. My kitchen is filled with Pyrex stuff, too.
That food looked really good. Even after the wife's 'roni pie and hot wings. -
I wish... a lot of my hosue is netowrked, but the stove has yet to get its connection... if/when it does this wouldnt have happened!Originally Posted by jeex

Pyrex is great but it's not indestructible. If you thermally shock it it'll do that, like taking it from a VERY cold fridge or freezer to a preheated oven. Or taking a hot casserole lid and dousing it with water to cool it down in the sinkCan you believe this! Are you sure that it is a real Pyrex dish? Maybe you got a hold of one of those pirate Pyrex dishes that have been flooding the world!

whats pyrex stamp supposed to look like?

I dropped a pyrex plate one time and it litterally exploded! Not broke, exploded, into several thousand fragments. I found fragments 40 feet away.
"Terminated!" :firing: -
Kind of off the subject here, but are you the one who posted the pizza recipie, galactica?
I've mastered that bitch and make the whole thing without measuring anymore. My pizza wasn't too good the first few times, but I've since become a pizza pro. -
Perhaps you are just putting too much faith in Pyrex. It isn't "indestructable". It's just better than ordinary glass.

I think I know why - car windscreens are much the same. To make the glass mechanically strong, they somehow produce it so there is a lot of opposing tension in the structure. It can be chipped and sometimes cracked but when it goes, it goes with a bang.Originally Posted by thayne
I use all-Pyrex stuff in the lab. It's good going from -18 deg C right into a Bunsen flame and back again. I haven't had one fail yet. I think maybe the oven dish was flawed, in which case Pyrex really should fix you up with a new one, at least.

Just Kidding!
Where can I get this Pizza recipe that was spoken of? I like Pizza, I like Pizza so much so I capitalize Pizza when I shouldn't!

Sounds like they may be a bit nervous that you'll litigate. You'll probably at least get a replacement pan from them. Maybe more ...?Originally Posted by galactica

i think the problem is that you burned at 4X. although they may be rated for 4X, i've found that Pyrex burns better at lower speeds.
