I have my DV tapes conversion down pretty good after a few weeks of reading and asking questions now I'm on to my old 8MM tapes. I use my DV camera to put in computer and I have a few questions. Should I split the 2 hour tape with two DVD's or should I put the two hours on 1 DVD? Plus when I do the conversion with TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 do I use the same settings like when I do DV tapes or should I change a few things like using CBR instead of VBR 2 pass? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank's

No conceivable reason to go to CBR. Main difference from DV tape is greater likelihood of noise, requiring possibly higher bitrate or smoothing filters. Bitrate recommendation dependent on many factors, such as amount of motion, lighting, use of tripod, etc. Decision to split based on bitrate.
