  2. I can't help but get in on this since its still going. You guys can pick on me for awhile if you want, but I got a serious problem I need some help on. I'm trying to back up a dual layered disc and I want to get it on a 3 1/2 inch floppy. Anyone know any programs that can do this? I want to keep the full menu, all the extras, and I definitely want to keep the quality the same as the original.

Yeah, build the ISO, use WinRAR. Make each archive 2MB and prepare a few thousand or so floppy disks

Next week LexCorp will be coming out with single layer 7GB DVD disks not sure if they will be plus or minus disks. To be Announced later.

I think those will work a lot better than trying to place a 90 minute movie on floppy disks.

Supposely the material used to make the disks is derived from Kryptonite. But it will take a Green Laser to use their full potential.

Lex Luthor will be in charge of the new factory located outside of Smallville, Kansas ... next to the Fertilizer Plant.

It wont work cause a dvd disc is 5" and a floppy is only 3 1/2"

Maybe if you only kept the main movie with no extras?

(no matter how "stoopid" this thread is I still find it refreshingly funny, keep it coming)

P.S. I still want to read the "how do you post a post" thread, so if anyone can find it please post a link THX

No Problem use 5.25" floppy discs. That'll save a few discs as well.

Great! Just read three pages of replys and I don't remember what the question was or who the poster was. Old age isn't it wonderful.
Oh, by the way I heard Sony released their new DVD9 recorder today. It's a brand new format they call DVD*RW. They don't know how or why it works but, it's not compatable with anything and it only costs US$3000000.00 in lots of 1,000.

Shame on you for jumping at the newbie like this!

It started funny, then down right ugly and hostile.

If you feel like pissing at a newbie, do it to your wife.

@Lashlarue, MackemX, you will just have to excuse all these snipers: they didn't get much from their wives last night, and are still waiting for their Viagra refills; or just try to jap up their post counters to look like experts.

    @sikki_nixx, use DVDShrink.

Baldrick or Mods, please stop this type of nonsense.

Go ahead and flame me. I'd seen suicidal dives, my ship shot down all of them.

  15. I can't get the 5.25" floppy to balance in my DVD drive. Anyone have any suggestions? Do you use LOAD"*",8,1 to make it run? I tried nothing and I'm all out of answers.

So ... lets do the math ... negative + negative = positive ...
There it is proof, it takes 2 negatives to equal 1 positive so DVD+R is better.

BTW, I remember when I first came to this forum trying to figure out how to make a vcd. Know what the first thing I did was? I clicked on What is a VCD? I know, I must be a genius because I had never done any video work before and figured out what a VCD was all on my own.

Just step away from my ship for a while, this mummyface starts to bruise it.

Yeah, perhaps I need some medication the last few day, but you need it everyday.

I guess posts like this exist even more so now because backups have become so easy and the 'experts' are now bored answering the simple stuff

and that's why it's so funny to see them shoot down anything they can to get their kicks and flex their knowledge muscles between them

it's all in fun but it does get sad when some seem to think this is the most important thing in life and that everyone should know at least something about it even if they are too lazy or dumb to read the basics

it will be even gloomier when dual layer burners become more mainstream and what will these guys do then? as newbies will be even more scarce

will they just turn on each other and burn out? then

    p.s. smilies are fun

I don't know. Atleast you wont get a million posts like the one which started this flame war! There won't be any questions on how to fit a DVD-9 to a DVD-5 anymore cause it will fit! Decrypt and burn is all that will be needed.

I don't know bdf24 there are plenty of questions about DVD-R to DVD-R , so there 's no reason why that pattern should change. I think there'll be planty of DVD9 to DVD9 .

Another post in - I'm a little more expert at all this now.

Yeah that's true. I always wonder what the big deal about going from backup to DVDR is. I have no idea why it's so hard for some to figure out! And why when one program does'nt work they don't try another before posting one of those "PLEASE HELP ME NOW!" threads.

For the most part some people are just to lazy to read and learn on there own. It's much easier and convienient for them to just have someone else hold there hand and tell them how to do something.
I would rather read and learn so I don't have to ask for help. And I'll use all the resources available to me as far as software before I ask for help.
