  1. Can anyone please tell me what is the best resolution I should scan pictures ( slide show) to record on a dvd? Please note that I am using a progresive scan dvd player connected on a projector (1024X768). Shall I use the 720X540 dvd player output resolution, or 1024X768 video projector resolution?

    thank you

  2. Use a DVD compliant resolution. There's no benefit scanning above that because your authoring application will resize it to 720 x 480/576 (NTSC/PAL) anyway.

Not entirely true, you can always do pans and zooms on larger still images in your editing software which can be very effective, and make your slideshow that bit more interesting.

  4. True but that will depend on how he wants to set up his slideshows. The way I understood Andros' question is whether the higher resolution of his projector (over the DVD resolution) will make any difference to the pictures recorded on the DVD. The answer to that is no. But to add effects to the slideshow then yes and in that case probably best to scan in the highest resolution his scanner can handle.
