  1. I have been trying to figure out how to get a VCD/SVCD authored so that when I put the disc in my DVD player (APEX AD600-A) it will autoplay a 'splash' screen without me having to press any buttons. All of the DVDs that I have do this (usually an FBI warning screen), but i have to press the PLAY button to get the intro segment to play, then it goes to the main menu. Any ideas out there? I have tried EasyCDCreator and the demo version of Ulead DVD Movie Factory(easiest SVCD creation I have ever done BTW). And no luck. One other good thing about the Ulead's DVDMC is that if my files I am using for SVCD or VCD exceed the specs, it will tell me, and then ask me if I want to make an (X)VCD or (X)SVCD. Nice touch.

  2. Firstly, please use the search function of the site first.

Autoplay is a function of the player, not the disc. There is no way to author a VCD such that it will autoplay. If the player autoplays VCDs, it will autoplay ALL VCDs. If the player doesn't autoplay VCDs, it won't for ALL VCDs.

  3. most dvd's are multi menu, they use the fbi warnings as the first menu
it sound like ur using a menu & ur splash is authored as a movie insead of the menu sceen
(i'm not sure if u can author the splash as a menu though)

  4. Whether you author the first thing on the PBC as a <selection > (menu) or a <playlist> is irrelevant (or if you use PBC at all).

Let me again reiterate that autoplay of a VCD is completely hardware dependent.

    Regards.
