    Hello,

    Baldrick, ...nice to be back here!
    Oh, much faster loadup times, (approx <10sec) - great
    so far!

    Anyways, I'm looking for the procedure for doing the following:
    * Cutting MPEG2 (svcd)
    * Audio, demuxing and re-muxing
    * (possibly merging, but not at this time)

    Ok, say you've just minished encoding your avi to mpeg2**
    svcd, and now you have a 1.28 gig file. Can't fit on cd.
    So, you (I) want to split it into 10 or 15 minute clips
    and finally, burn to cd with nero.

    Do any of yous first demux/remux the whole 1.2gig or do
    you split and THEN demux/remux your audio?
    ...and which TAB do you use for this process (tmpgenc)
    Or, are you using another app, and if so,
    * which one
    * and, how are you doing it (steps to follow)

    I've tried other apps, but they either reencode the whole
    clip(s) or parts of it, and when they are played back on
    dvd player, quality is bad.

    I'd like to hear everyone's method of the above process.
    ...if you'd care to share your experience, plese.

    ** or, captured via an Hardware MPEG-2 chip. I am now using
    in addition to my DC10+, the WinTV PVR USB unit. It's a
    great piece of junk (I mean) unit and make excellent rips
    (backup copies) of DVD movie collections, though caps are
    352x480. Quality is soo close to DVD, ...even to an expert.
    Do, I'll be using this unit for DVD backups, and save me
    self a bundle of hours or days of encoding. A one hour
    comes to 1.2gigs, at 2520 bits and 192k audio.
    Oh yeah, ...one more thing, this unit is MACROVISION FREE!!

    PS: does anybody have the WinTV PVR (USB model) ??
    And, does you like it?????? Tell me what you think of it!

    -------------------
    * AMD 900mhz pc133 128mb ram
    * ATI Rage Fury Pro (32mb) can cap at 720x480 min. fram drop
    * 20gig and 30gig
    * DC10+ can cap at 640x480 no frame drops
    * WinTV PVR USB, caps at max 352x480 too 6Mbits
    * TMPGEnc 12, 12a, 12j
    * 1 IRQ conflict with DC10+ and VIA USB, but still works
    * apex ad-500, apex ad-1500, jvc s-vhs 55gal fish tank 7fishes

    *You can use bbMPEG in cutting SVCD (MPEG2) this is good doing this job.
    *You can use TMPGEnc

    hope this would help
    Guide is just at he left side of the screen
