  1. I have converted a lot of DVD's to VCD with DVDx 2.2 and the results are great..

But ran across a DVD that after being converted has sound that is filled with skips every few seconds..

After scanning the forums here and other places, and reading numerous guides, I've come to Possible solution.

The settings in DVDx 2.2 : Detect 24Hz and force 24Hz, along with the Audio Video syncronization are causing the problem, well not really but its the program trying to sync the audio and video thats creating the skips.

DVDx 2.2 can't sycronize the audio and video on some DVD's, so it just skips the sound ahead a little to cath up with video.

The DVD's in question are what I call Cheap DVD's, they are usually DVD's of TV episodes or Older Movies released before DVD's were invented.

These DVD's seem to use a different sound format that must be kept at 192bit @ 4800khz DVDx 2.2 converts it to 224bit @ 4100khz wich is the problem.

So I figured maybe I could just rip the sound from the DVD by itself without having it converted to 4100khz. And Thats what I did, there is a good guide on this site to do just this, the easiest way to find it is to search the guides section for DVD to WAV conversion.

In short I rip the Audio Only from the DVD with DVD Decrypter, Then I open ripped Audio with Goldwave and then have Goldwave save as .wav..

After this I use TMPGenc to covert the .wav to .mp2..

Now I let DVDx 2.2 convert the DVD to VCD in its entirety, after this I Demux the .mpg with TMPgenc and delete the .mp2 file that TMPGenc just created..

Then the final step is to Remux the .mp2 I created back together with the .m1v.

Its a little time consuming, but the results are quite good..
