  1. I have been using Datawrite Red (V2) & burning my DVDs in the same way for a while now with no problems at all.

The other day though, my DVDs started getting to 100% and then just not finishing, no matter how long I leave it. I have tried Nero, Clone DVD & Copytodvd & have the same problem with each. The only way to quit the program is to use the task manager, and the only way to eject the disk is to restart the PC!

The only good news is that the DVDs all work in my standalones even after this, but it is a real pain in the ass as I never restart my PC, and it takes ages to load up everything again!

I have searched for ages on this topic and can't find a solution,

    Any ideas??

    Thx!

I have experienced this problem intermittently - like, once every 50 backups or so. The puzzling thing to me was when I reburnt the same DVD after the reboot, it finalised without a worry. That makes me think that it might either be a dodgy disc every now and again (probably likely) or something to do with the computer itself.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I've had the same problem... and yes, they still worked but I also had to reboot etc to get control back.

I traced it down to Nero InCD. I've uninstalled it and haven't had the problem since. I'd only installed it to mount the Nero iso files (.nrg) but as Daemon tools will now do them also, I don't need it.

Of course I may be wrong but it seems ok now, 60 or so burns later.

  4. Or it could be media. I was using Princos for the longest time and it started freezing at the 100% mark, then none of them would play in anything. I switched to Ritek media and everything is fine.
