    I'm using Mainconcept to convert a .avi to DVD mpeg, and although I select DVD from the options menu, the end file size is 11Gb !!!
    The annoying thing is that it tells me the end file size will be 4Gb (perfect) but it's a lie, as it turns out to be 11Gb.

    I must be missing something really obvious, but I need your help please

    Click Details, Advanced, set it to CBR, adjust down to ~4500 bitrate. Encode. If needed, adjust lower.
    Click Details, Advanced, Audio tab, set to 192kbps, or even 128, mpeg2, not PCM.
