  1. I have 10 28 minute MPG files (from a TV series) that I want to burn on to one DVD. I realize that I'll have to shrink and re-shrink a couple times to get the video at the right size. My problem is that my audio is over 3 GB alone.

When preparing my files, I let TMPGEnc handle the audio and video of the AVIs that I had to convert to MPGs. Does it make audio files bigger than other trancoder apps?

Is there any way to reduce the audio size?

    Thanks.

What flavor are your audio files? If they are WAV, yes, you need to change them to something more compact, at least MP2, which TMPGEnc can do. Best is AC3, but that takes a little more work. If you don't know what they are, drop them into VideoToolBox and check them.

  3. I'm confused: I don't have separate audio files, just the MPGs. Do I need to re-encode them again and split the audio from the video (if so, how do I do that?)?

    Thanks.
