extracting photos from VCD/.DAT file

Any way to achieved reverse process to extract pictures from photo VCD
.DAT file. VCD contains photos and transition effect in between in .DAT format.

I am new to this forum, so if this is not proper place, please don't flame me.

This is only one way to do it but I would take all of the dats and turn them into mpg's with vcdgear. Then I would convert the mpg's to jpg or bmp with ACD See.

You could also use BS player to capture still images from the movie directly.
