  1. Hi,

Not sure if this is a problem with the encoding, burning, or my DVD player, but I can successfully burn a VCD and play it back on my standalone DVD player, but the audio is missing...I've tried all related suggestions/fixes I've found online but nothing has worked, not sure what to try next. Here's my scenario:

    - short single video clip, plays fine on PC (converted originally using Media Cleaner Pro to VCD MPEG specs, reconverted using TMPGEnc)
    - burned using VideoCD 2.0 option in CeQuadrat WinOnCD onto CD-RW (originally used CD-R's, but the DVD player wouldn't recognize them)
    - trying to play using Sony DVP-S360 DVD player

    I've tried:

    - verifying that the file is within specs, and re-converting using TMPGEnc's "VideoCD (NTSC)" filter
    - using VirtualDub to save the audio as a separate WAV and referencing the WAV as the audio source in TMPGEnc
    - burning a new VCD with the sample file from vcdhelp.com (VCDNTSCSample.mpg)

Based on what I'm reading, TMPGEnc/VirtualDub/WinOnCD should have no problems, and it wouldn't seem to be related to the encoding/conversion, as the VCD of the sample file plays the same way (video's fine, no audio) - I've read that other people can play using my model DVD player, so I'm stuck...any suggestions?

    Thanks...Colin.

  2. I also have winoncd, it works great. I would think it might be the cd player that is in fault.
try an apex dvd player they are cheap and recognize all types of formats.
