  1. Hi
    I have a file of 800 Mb that is a MPEG2/SVCD format
when i open it in avicodec and the software is telling me that the audio and video have a size of 0 Mb ??? but it's says that the file itself is 780 Mb.

Also, this same file take an eternity to open in VideoStudio !!
But if I try to play it with windows media player there is no problem ...

Can you tell me why it can't tell me the right size and how can I fix what's wrong with this file ?

    thanx

If it plays and works what problem are you trying to fix.???? If it plays and works as advertised, I would not worry about the discrepant nature of file size reporting via avicodec. I might get concerned if all my HDD files were being size misreported but...... if it aint broke, do not try to fix it, is my motto.

  3. The main problem is that i try to cut this video in into few little file
using video studio. And I can't get to open or read this file in video studio (it freeze for about 3 minutes). I have no problem to rad and open other file in 2 seconds with this software
Since there are probably a lot of reasons why files can't be opened in video studio, I tought the fact that the size is not readable might a good hint of what's wrong with the file...

How can a fix this file ?

If it's VS version 5 or older I'm not surprised. You could click "open" and then have time to watch a glacier race before it was ready. But the fact that it's only this file and it reports it wrong could mean a corrupt file.

  5. It is VS7
if the file is corrupted i think you would not be able to watch and listen the file in windows media player ?
Is there's a way to correct the file on anything i can do to rebuild the file.

Some software is more tolerant of file errors than others, just as standalone DVD players are. I don't know, maybe look through the tools section here and see if there is something that will repair it. Or try zdnet.com and go to the downloads section. There should be a diagnostic there if you use the search engine.

  9. I finally find a way yo solve the problem
I put the bizzard file in TEMPGenc,
I use the merge and cut function in the mpeg tools
I remove few ms at the beginning and at the end of the file and I cut them from the original video to create a brand new video and after I was able to open it in Visual Studio

So if any of you find the same problem this might help you to solve it
